My Approach

This page walks you through how I work on a wedding day, from documenting the setting and early moments to capturing the emotions, details, and celebrations as they naturally unfold, creating a complete and genuine story of your day.

Early Arrival & Venue Details

I arrive early to photograph the venue before guests arrive. This includes the exterior, ceremony space, reception room, décor, florals, table settings, signage, and any meaningful details the couple has carefully chosen. These images help set the scene and tell the story of the day from the very beginning.

Getting Ready

I document the quieter, more intimate moments as preparations unfold. This usually includes the bride (and often the groom) getting ready, hair and makeup, final touches to outfits, and candid moments with close friends and family. These photos capture anticipation, emotion, and the calm-before-the-storm atmosphere.

Guest Arrival & Atmosphere

A group of people celebrating outdoors on a sunny day. There is a vintage car with a man standing through the sunroof waving. People are holding smoke bombs and taking photos, some with smartphones. The scene looks festive with colorful smoke in the sky.

As guests begin to arrive, I photograph the growing energy of the day, hugs and smiles, conversations, and the general atmosphere as well as the groom’s grand arrival, documenting the excitement and energy as everything comes together before the ceremony.

The Ceremony

Outdoor wedding ceremony with guests seated under a canopy decorated with white curtains, overlooking a rural landscape with cloudy sky.

I discreetly capture the ceremony as it happens: entrances, vows, reactions, key moments, and the exit. My focus is on storytelling, preserving both the big moments and the subtle, emotional details without being intrusive.

Confetti & Congratulations

Happy newlywed couple holding hands and walking through a crowd of wedding guests outdoors, surrounded by bubbles, on their wedding day.

Immediately after the ceremony, I photograph the celebratory moments, the confetti, cheers, embraces, and congratulations. This is often one of the most joyful and energetic parts of the day.

Group Photos

I guide the couple and their guests through formal group photographs. These are organised efficiently to keep things relaxed and enjoyable, ensuring everyone important is captured without taking too much time away from the celebrations.

Couple Portraits

I spend dedicated time with the couple creating natural, relaxed portraits. This is usually the calmest part of the day, allowing space for genuine connection while producing timeless images that reflect their relationship.

Drinks Reception & Candid Moments

While guests enjoy drinks and canapés, I capture candid moments, laughter, conversations, and interactions. These photos often become favourites, as they show the day unfolding naturally.

Reception Details & Room Setup

Before guests are seated, I photograph the reception space fully set up: tables, décor, place settings, cake, and any personalised details. This preserves the look of the room exactly as it was designed.

Speeches

Three women and one man at a celebration table, with two women smiling and playfully touching the man's head. The man is seated, holding his head with his hand, and is surrounded by glasses and bottles on the table. The women are dressed in traditional colorful attire and jewelry, with henna on one woman’s arm.

I document the speeches as they happen, focusing on both the speakers and the reactions and laughter, tears, and shared moments between guests. These images capture the personality and emotion of the day.

Evening Celebrations

A bride and groom dance closely at their wedding reception, smiling and holding hands, with a decorated ceiling and warm lighting in the background.

As the evening begins, I photograph the first dance, parent dances, and the start of the party. Lighting and atmosphere change here, creating dynamic, energetic images that show the celebration in full swing.

The Dance Floor & Final Moments

I stay to capture the energy of the dance floor and unforgettable moments. If time allows, I also photograph quieter end-of-night moments that bring the story of the day to a natural close.
